Overview

FibroScan also called Transient Elastography is a quick and painless technique used to assess liver stiffness without invasive investigation. It can be used for viral and non-viral hepatitis, fatty liver, and cirrhosis. This procedure takes less than 15 minutes. It will show the condition of the liver and allows the gastroenterologist to diagnose and monitor disease evolution in conjunction with treatment and collateral factors. This test is usually done in the clinic.
