Overview

You must be fasting four (4) hours prior to having the test done. The test will last approximately 30 minutes. You are able to drink water and brush your teeth prior to the test. We will give the test to your ordering doctor to review. We will call you with results as soon as your doctor has reviewed the test and given it to us to call you.

you are not eligible for testing if:

  • You are pregnant
  • You have a pacemaker or a defibrillator

The FibroScan is painless and easy. You will feel a slight vibration on the skin at the tip of the probe. The test is used to assess liver stiffness. This may be used as an aid to clinical management of your liver disease.
